Sounds of Mongolia
Ever since Chill Out, my ears have been great fans of Mongolian throat singing. Such a difinitive, unparalleled sound it is. Although this troop seems to be more oriented towards the traditional music of the land, the album features numerous balads in guttural style. The instrumentation is delightfully basic, ringing forth such a comforting mood of rural agrarian life. I'd say it's a real stretch for Musical Heritage Society to put this in its Jazz section, but that's where you'll find it.
