About 6 years ago, I happened to visit SFO and met mr. Uzzell-Edwards, saw his studio, and hung around with the man. Hung around too much, actually -- guy didn't even know me -- but I was going through a very rough time. Found out he was doing a lot of field recording & processing. Very nice stuff. And of course, mr. Inoue is of legendary proportions in Ambient Land. Then, years later, living by the Bay and out-of-touch with the FAX label, I hear a track off this album on some other Shoutcast station. Hunted it down immediately. The CD's back label is a map of the city and mapped track source locations. The contents are boxes of aural pins, needles, quivvering insects and scraping objects immersed in thick gelatinous dronescapes. You are taken somewhere else with each listen. These men's reputations precede them, and are manifested herein. A sonic treasure worth seeking and obtaining.
